You Can Catch Pokémon In Palworld Again, But Now It's Even Funnier

Feb 02, 2024

Palworld's Pokémon mod is back with a legally distinct vengeance. Since its release, Palworld has been accused of ripping off Pokémon. The two have undeniably similar concepts: catching and collecting cute monsters, and using them to aid in day-to-day tasks or pitched battle. One player took this a step further: YouTuber ToastedShoes announced a mod bringing actual Pokémon designs to Palworld. Nintendo requested the announcement video's removal, according to ToastedShoes, who complied and removed the video showcasing the mod. However, only a week later, the Pokémon in Palworld mod appears to be underway again - but something's off this time.

In a new YouTube video, ToastedShoes revealed that this time, the creature designs in his Palworld mod aren't explicitly Pokémon - they're "legally distinct pocket-sized creatures." In the video, this is first seen when his custom character - modded to look like a cartoonish version of himself wearing a legally distinct red-and-white baseball cap - is woken up on the beach by an impish, electric rodent called Yellow Rat. The mod, officially called "The Legally-Distinct Pocket Creatures Mod Pack," is once again available via Nexus Mods.
